Since the project was implemented as a programmatic intervention, tracer team activities, mechanisms of tracing, modes of transportation, and health facility placement varied by subdistrict.
Identification of the modes of trace elements in coal is limited by the heterogeneity of the mineral and organic components, and only broad interpretations can usually be made.
It is useful to subject a series of samples of different petrographic (mineral and maceral) characteristics by float-sink studies to learn more about the modes of trace element occurrence.
For instance, based on the analysis of modes of trace-element (including yttrium and rare earth) and mineral occurrence, Dai et al. (2014a) revealed the dominant sediment-source regions for the late Permian coal-bearing strata of the Huayingshan coalfield, eastern Sichuan, southwestern China, are the Dabashan and Leshan-Longnvsi Uplifts and the Hannan Upland.
Such traits include primary vascular system, type of secondary xylem, pit distribution on secondary xylem tracheid walls, and mode of leaf trace production.
The analysis methodology employed to determine the failure mode of each trace is outlined in Figure 3. 1,172 reads (13%) represent the failed portion of the data set (Q20 < 600) for further analysis to determine failure mode.
