Valeo's autonomous test car, dubbed the Cruise4U, managed a full 24 hours on the Paris Beltway in one driving session in late September, with 99percentt of that time spent under fully autonomous drive mode, excepting the breaks it took to swap out human test drivers.
On this day, the ascending pass from perigee to apogee was operated in the TOF mode, while the descending pass from apogee was in the Normal mode, except for the second pass, where the Normal mode was used in conjunction with other space probes.
Figure 2 illustrates the ultimate drift capacity (the ultimate displacement capacity divided by the height of the specimen, δ u /h w ) for each failure mode except for the sliding failure mode, where the tests were interrupted before reaching the ultimate displacement capacity of the specimens.
