Nevertheless, compared with the LNO/LSMO bilayer, in the case of the LSMO/LNO bilayer, the upper LSMO is compressed by the bottom LNO layer, which induces that the interfacial Mn ions occupy the out-of-plane 3z 2 –r 2 orbits [32].
MN materials may be dissolvable, swellable or biodegradable, and the structures may be in-plane or out-of-plane, solid or hollow, coated, dissolving, or hydrogel-forming11,16 hydrogel-forming11,16
These criteria yielded a subset of 338 DE proteins with significantly altered abundance upon Mn deficiency out of a total of 11,606 identified proteins that could be quantified (Fig. 3). Figure 3: Detection of differentially expressed genes and proteins.

Thus, out-of-plane assembly of the quasi-planar Mn III) salen-type complexes makes it possible to align the easy axes of the Mn III) ions.
This is in agreement with the enhancement of FM interactions in the out-of-plane direction, which is expected because of the reduction of the out-of-plane ⟨Mn O⟩ bond length.
It would be expected that this should minimize the in-plane AF coupling; and (b) A-site doping with a cation that has a smaller ionic radius than Bi3+ and a large JT distortion parameter than Bi3+ to reduce the overall cell volume and hence also the out-of-plane ⟨Mn O⟩ bond length to optimize the out-of-plane FM coupling.
In addition, we expect that besides octahedral rotations, there is also a small decrease of the ⟨Mn O⟩ bond length along the out-of-plane axis.
