Overall, zygotes in the single male treatment hatched at significantly lower rates than the eggs in the mixed-singles and multiple male treatments combined (F1,28 = 13.988, P = 0.001).
Post-hoc analysis revealed that this significant effect was driven largely by the lower hatching success in the single male treatment relative to the mixed-singles and multiple male treatments which, were almost identical (F1,28 = 0.009, P = 0.924; Figure 3).
