Using a multivariable mixed effects statistical model, we observed statistically significant, elevated levels of IL-8 production in cells from older (>60 years), compared to young adults aged 21 39 years, following the engagement of TLR1/2, TLR2/6, TLR4, and TLR5; the highest magnitude change was observed following flagellin stimulation, which was increased by 45.1% (Fig. 1A; P < 0.0001).
