Pediatric growth disorders (PGD) may have multiple etiologies, including familial short stature, constitutional delay, chronic non-endocrine disease, endocrine disorders, nutritional deficits, and a variety of miscellaneous causes including some genetic syndromes [ 13].
Primary (de novo) degenerative scoliosis involves spinal deformity that develops and becomes symptomatic after skeletal maturity of the patient is complete and finally secondary degenerative scoliosis due to miscellaneous causes including trauma and vertebral fractures, osteoporosis, and other metabolic bone diseases and iatrogenic causes [ 1, 23].
Cause of death between major cities and grouped rural areas did not differ for infectious (P = 0.7), non-medical causes including withdrawal from dialysis for any reason, accident, or suicide (P = 0.1), or miscellaneous causes (P = 0.8).
Other frequently reported causes include miscellaneous posterior fossa pathology, carotid or vertebrobasilar disease and cerebral aneurysms.
The underlying diseases were dilated cardiomyopathy (42.6 %), ischemic heart disease (26.3 %), and miscellaneous causes of heart failure (31.1%%) including arrhythmia, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, secondary cardiomyopathies (diabetes, hypertension, collagen diseases, etc)., valvular heart diseases, myocarditis and cardiac sarcoidosis.
Miscellaneous cases included diseases such as Behçet disease.
Another interventional study in high risk ICU patients, including patients with miscellaneous causes of kidney injuries, demonstrated that EPO was ineffective at preventing mild or severe AKI and did not modify mortality and need for dialysis [ 24], similarly to our study.
Miscellaneous causative bacteria included Listeria monocytogenes, Propionibacterium acnes, P. mirabilis and Yersinia enterocolitica (all 1 case).
The 29 non-malarial causes of death included acute pneumonia (5), sepsis (5), bacterial meningitis (4), hepatic failure (4), subdural/subarachnoid hemorrhage (3) and miscellaneous causes (8).
There is no specific US feature to characterise lymphadenopathy from these four miscellaneous causes.
Transport delay and non-availability of beds were the main miscellaneous causes (6/120,5%,95%CI= 3.8%-7.6%).
