From what I know, minority issues do not seem to be all that important to many folks outside of the experience.

I too have noticed that minority issues don?t seem to rate with people who do not feel they are affected by so-called minority issues.
Lots of issues don't break along party lines, but preventing the other side from assembling a supermajority is the best lever available to a minority.
Economic issues don't just apply to white or black voters – they matter to everyone of every ethnicity, religion or sexuality, majority and minority alike.
Some issues do remain.
Furthermore, if you are a person who is closely affected by minority issues, then what can you actually do about it?
If as a result of reading this column, you rethink the way you do things and take into consideration how your actions may affect others AND you now believe that minority issues affect everyone, then I have done my job.

The reasons vary, but I think it is safe to say that they do not feel that minority issues are their issues.
