The Adopt-A-Minefield program (www.landmines.org), coordinated by the United Nations Association of the United States of America, lets you contribute toward the clearing of part of a field.
The hosts will be WILLIAM H. LUERS, the chairman and president of the United Nations Association of the United States, which runs the Adopt-a-Minefield program, and BARRY S. STERNLICHT, the president and chief executive of Starwood Hotels and Resorts International, which owns the W chain.
VERY much the time-zone-sensitive guy, Mr. Heslop knows, thanks to a half dozen clocks, exactly what time it is in Afghanistan (HALO has 1,200 recruits there and, now that a partnership with the United Nations' Adopt-a-Minefield program has been green-lighted, hopes to add 800).
