Before use, the electrode was soaked in a 1.0 × 10−3 mol/L CLP solution for 30 min to be active.
After the area at risk and area of no-reflow (using UV light) of each slice were demarcated on an acetate sheet, the slices were incubated in 3%% (w/v) 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride at 37 °C for 15 min to stain metabolically active tissue [ 13] and delineate infarcted area from non-infarcted area.
The KF reaction can be completed within 10 min to generate AIE-active PTH-CHO-PEI-DEP FNPs through mixing polyethylenimine and aldehyde group containing AIE dyes and diethyl phosphate.
Aminophylline (10 mM) had no effect on the initial peak, but significantly increased potassium efflux at later time-points (60, 90 min; P<0.03), suggesting that the initial large efflux was leakage, while the later smaller potassium efflux (after 20 min) was due to active transport (Fig. 4B).
11 As it is well established that reperfusion of ischaemic tissue in the clinic leads to variable rates of reintroduction of blood supply, we modified our treatment protocol combining a bolus injection with persistent perfusion over 20 min to ensure delivery of active MitoSNO to all parts of the tissue as reperfusion progressed.
After the weight-loss phase, all 3 groups entered the same 9-mo weight-maintenance program, which included an exercise program (circuit training, with a mix of aerobic and strength-training workout stations, at the center 2 3 times/wk for 30 to 45 min; physically active transport to and from work; and use of a Yamax SW-200 pedometer to encourage walking), dietary advice, and behavioral changes.
The average operating time reduced from 1 h 38 min to 1 h 11 min in the control group but remained static at about 1 h 55 min in the active group.
Total exposure time in the chamber was 30 min. After active aerosolization for 15 min, the nebulizer was then turned off, the chamber inlet and outlets were plugged, and the rats remained in the chamber for another 15 min to breathe the remaining aerosolized solution.

The goal of the exercise programme is to motivate dyads to complete 30 min of active exercise at least 3 days a week.
