These observations suggest that the increased immunoreactivity of TG2 in resveratrol-treated migratory SHYTG2 and pancreatic cancer cells is due to greater antigen accessibility of the anti-TG2 antibody to the Ca2+-sensitized open low migratory form of TG2.
Since intracellular Ca2+ levels determine TG2 conformational state [ 34], we hypothesize that the slower migratory form of TG2 may result from resveratrol-induced changes in intracellular calcium concentrations [ 35].
