The team also found that North and South America were colonized independently by at least two different waves of migration from different parts of Asia, although both waves appear to have arrived via the Bering Strait.
Better performance can be achieved for some species by transferring some or all populations to warmer, cooler or drier conditions from their provenances (Carter 1996; Andalo et al. 2005), suggesting the existence of adaptational lags due to gene flow, recent migration from different environments, or recent changes in local climate on an evolutionary timescale.
The second is that there had been probably several migration routes for plants to migrate from different source areas to Taiwan.
