All win if the financial, social and human cost of migration is lowered and if economies have easier access to recognized skills and labor force.
Increasing the probability of harvest causes an evolutionary shift in the migration reaction norms for both age-1 and age-2 individuals: for an individual of the same size, the probability of migration is lowered as the maximal harvest probability increases (Fig. 3A,B).
In both migrant groups, their occupational status after migration was lower on average than before migration: 29 in both groups (see Fig. 2).
Thus, we have observed that H-Ras knock-out (KO) mice show lower fibrosis after UUO [ 27], whereas in embryonic fibroblasts obtained from H-Ras or N-Ras KO mice, fibronectin and collagen synthesis were higher and proliferation and migration were lower than in wild type fibroblasts [ 24, 25].
In general, if a migrant spends more time at his or her original place, this indicates that he/she intends to return to the village and the migration intensity is lower than for those spending more time in the destination area.
Related research also revealed that the impact of international students on net migration is much lower than previously thought as 97% of students from beyond the European Economic Area EEAA) leave before their visa expires.
Given the design of the policy, these statistics are consistent with the targeting of remote hilly lands: in remote villages, the incidence of labor migration is usually lower because of higher associated migration costs.
In the states with high migration rates, the wage premium is lower than that in the rest of the states, which is consistent with a higher level of negative selection.
Similar to descriptive analysis in Table 2, migrants are more likely to be single, since the cost of migration for a single individual is lower that for a whole family.
By comparing corresponding reported immigration and emigration flows for 19 European countries, we have assessed to what extent German migration statistics are higher than they would be under a harmonised definition and to what extent Polish migration statistics are lower.
