"The idea of using a bioresorbable scaffold to allow cell migration and, ultimately, replacement of native ACL tissue is interesting and potentially clinically relevant". But, Dahm said, the bioengineered ligament has its limitations.
We first performed pairwise comparisons between the best-fit model (residual ancestral migration and nearly full replacement, δ≥0.99) and the minor replacement (δ≤0.5) models (Figure 3A).
We next compared this best-fit model (residual ancestral migration and nearly full replacement, δ≥0.99) with other models involving major replacement (δ≥0.5, Figure 3A), and we found that, independently of the values of ancestral migration rate (m0), our approach still identifies the "correct" model in more than 95% of cases (200 simulated pseudodatasets for each pairwise comparisons).

If the Tre1 protein is dependent on any of these specific amino acids for proper germ cell migration, their replacement with alanine should disrupt Tre1 function and these constructs should fail to rescue the tre1sctt phenotype.
