A smaller effect is found for children in the middle wealth group, and in sharp contrast, children in the top tercile seem to not be affected by remittances.
However, the pattern was not consistent; the middle wealth group had lower mean travel time than both the poorest and least poor groups.
The use of the private institutional sector started among women in richer households, and then increased over time among women in the middle and poorer wealth groups.
Different groups of participants with different socio-economic groups such as female and male headed households', the elderly and young people, vulnerable social groups including women and wealth groups (poor, middle and better off households'), extension workers, agriculture office workers and local authorities were interviewed.
As for household characteristics, 21% of them were in the poorest group, 33% were in poor, 22% in middle wealth, 10% of them were in rich and 13% were in our highest group.
This means the top 20% have increased their share of all wealth by 1.8 percentage points over those eight years, while all other groups lost ground, with the greatest losses for middle wealth households.
There is a continuous distribution amongst wealth groups by livestock holdings, but the distribution of wealth groups by land was bimodal: households owned either a lot of land or very little, with few households in the middle category.
Similarly the middle wealth index is higher than poor wealth index.
