To simplify the implementation of the algorithm, we proceed to select the middle value for Δ(i) for the simulation results presented in the latter section.
As shown in Figure 4, a middle value for the deposition rate, at around 1 Å/s, presents tradeoffs of the two regimes and seems to be the ideal case for deposition of low-roughness Au films.
In other words, we can say that a lower bound is obtained for R xx ¯ ( 0 ), a middle value for R xx ¯ ( 1 ), and an upper bound with R xx ¯ imp.
For example, the median values of energy-adjusted zinc in Q1 and Q5 are -1.25 and 1.24 respectively indicating that the middle value for energy-adjusted zinc in Q5 is much higher than that of Q1.
For MHE, the middle value of each interval was used in the discrepancy calculation, and the weight coefficient (the parameter ρ in [12]) equals to 0.8 was used.
