pseudonana, P. tricornutum and E. huxleyi: 20°C, 100 μmol photons m-2 s-1 (24 hours light); F. cylindrus: 4°C, 50 μmol photons m-2 s-1 (24 hours light); nutrient replete F/2 medium; cells were harvested in the middle of exponential growth phase) to obtain RNA for either Illumina sequencing (T. pseudonana and F. cylindrus) or Northern Blots (T. pseudonana, P. tricornutum, F. cylindrus, E. huxleyi).
