The Government of Bangladesh and UNICEF assess progress at mid-term of the Country Programme Dhaka, 25 September 2008 : The Government of Bangladesh and UNICEF today held the Mid-Term Review of the Country Programme of Cooperation for Bangladeshi Children and Women which covers the five-year period from 2006 to 2010.
At the time of the Mid-Term Review, the programme was viewed by evaluators and programme managers as a "radical departure from previous vertical, sectorally-based, goal-oriented programmes" (UNICEF Uganda, 1997).
Findings and Conclusions: Consistent with the findings of the mid-term evaluation, the programme has shown continued positive impacts on beneficiary households across the whole breath of areas such as food security, education, health and health-seeking behavior, asset ownership, housing quality, household expenditures, and the well-being of household members.
At mid-term the programme has been financed in the amount of $12.24 million covering 1,650,490 IDPs.
Held in Moscow on 11 March, the mid-term review of the 2006-2010 proframme of cooperation between the Russian Federation and UNICEF provided a unique opportunity to take stock of these advances and identified remaining challenges for children in the Russian Federation.
