We used the developed model to examine how various factors affect the time scale of oil droplet biodegradation, including the droplet size distribution, initial oil and microbial concentration, maximum microbial density at the water-oil interface, and the chemical composition of the oil droplets.
Alternative measures may be used to include relevant data points for which the microbial concentration is too low to be detected by the given experimental method.
