Here, microarray hybridizations represent sequences and genes replace the sites of the multiple sequence alignment (Efron et al 1996).
For Arabidopsis, there are over 1,800 microarray hybridizations representing many different experimental conditions on Affymetrix™ ATH1 gene chips alone.
