Mice ingesting a standard rodent diet supplemented with polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) were more susceptible to chlorinated hydrocarbon solvent-induced renal and hepatic damage, as well as the lethal effects of CHCl3 and CCl4, than were mice consuming control diet.
In our treated mice, ingested genistein formed glucuronide conjugates, and only a small portion of the genistein remained as free aglycones in the blood.
Furthermore, granulocytes from uninfected HFD-fed mice ingested fewer bacteria per granulocyte (P = 0.02, Fig. 5C).
Ind mice ingested less kcal than Con mice for the duration of the whole experimental phase with values reaching significance in the last week (Figure 3C).

In the absence of a change in the rate of urinary clearance of As over a wide dose range, it is likely that mice ingesting diets amended with AsV or As-containing soils will reach whole-body steady-state body burden during the experimental period used in this study (Hughes et al. 2003).
