Because the HVDC model in PSCAD/EMTDC is different from that in the proposed assessment method, and temporal discreteness is not considered in PSCAD/EMTDC simulations, the differences between the assessment results are reasonable.
As shown in Figure 5a,b, the perceptual annoyance of the artifacts produced by spatial EC method and temporal EC method is almost at the same level, so we applied the same weight for lost slices of edged-SC type and those of H-TC type.
