These exit interviews consist of a short, interviewer-administrated, standardized questionnaire following a client's service visit to gather more detailed information about client demographics and socioeconomic status, services obtained, choice of contraceptive methods, and client experience.
The intervention involved a mixed method approach and client feedback on the efficacy of the approach was sought.
In some countries, providers' negative attitudes toward family planning have restricted clients' access to services including Brazil where providers believed that women cannot learn to use barrier methods and Africa where clients' age, marital status, number of children, parity and spousal consent influenced providers' decision to provide contraception [ 44].
The CHOICE program offered a wide variety of methods and actively counseled clients about methods using the gradient of WHO's "tiered" contraceptive effectiveness chart.
Staff inform clients about why we are using the fingerprinting system, explain how the system is more efficient relative to other methods, and clarify that client participation is voluntary and that their information is confidential.

Further research should also explore methods for linking SCSOs' staff and clients with community-based smoking cessation services to improve access to cessation support.
