Dose selection was carried out utilising the flexible Bayesian method of Escalation with Overdose Control (EWOC) (Tighiouart and Rogatko 2010), a fully adaptive, real time dose-finding method that uses individual patient experiences to select subsequent doses, allowing for more rapid dose escalation while minimising the number of patients who are underdosed.
