The existing literature provides several methods for landslide susceptibility assessment, categorized in qualitative and quantitative methods.
The traditional visual photo-interpretation methods for landslide mapping and monitoring is still equally important even with the availability of latest generation space-borne digital imagery (Soeters and van Westen 1996).
The aim of this research is to develop a method (protocol) for landslide susceptibility and landslide volume assessment of potentially unstable volcanic landscapes in order to be helpful in mitigating landslide damages to human settlements.
