Major advantages of the method are due to the fact that the solution for the particle distribution functions is explicit, easy to implement, and natural to parallelize.
Further limitations of the HE method are due to the need for long time series in order to have robust distributions for calculating the transfer function.
The limitations in the application of this method are due to the characteristics of the target: a very conductive fluid is usually contained in paths with dimensions that are much smaller than the depth at which it is located.
