Popov constructed an apparatus that could register atmospheric electrical disturbances and, in July 1895, installed it at the meteorological observatory of the Institute of Forestry in St . Petersburg
Minimum and maximum temperatures, precipitation and relative humidity (RH) data were obtained for the meteorological observatory of Tikal (N 17°13'19.758", W 89°37'25.03"), Guatemala.
