Biological process was mainly represented by cellular and metabolic processes, representing more than 55% of the annotations, followed by response to stimulus (8.6%) and biological regulation (6.7%).
At 6 h, the most significant enriched Biological Process was GO 0044255 ~ cellular lipid metabolic process represented by 31 DEGs (Additional file 2).
In stem secondary xylem (Fig. 4), catabolic process (9 %), cellular protein modification process (8 %), response to stress (8 %) and carbohydrate metabolic process represented the most abundant sub-categories in the biological process category (Fig. 4a), indicating the expression of genes related to catabolic activities and stress, where several heat-shock proteins were found.
When exactly two elementary modes are considered, the contribution of each mode to the overall metabolic process (represented by a point on the connecting line segment) is fixed by the ratio of any two fluxes for which the constituent modes have non-identical ratios.
A wide variety of metabolic processes are represented by the proteins identified in our proteomic screen.
The largest biological processes represented include metabolic, cellular and protein metabolism.
In all of these analyses, metabolic processes were (among) the most significant processes represented by all gene sets, indicating that reovirus induces similar metabolic changes as the metabolic abnormalities observed in T2DM patients (Table 4).
