The range of services offered by several governments includes counselling and mentoring, the provision of micro-credits and seed capital funds, award programmes, business networks, promotion of entrepreneurship as a promising option for young people, and tailored information (e.g., in the language of the minority group).
Sarah was instrumental in the design of the CyberMentors website which is revolutionising the provision of mentoring and counselling online and is currently working with her team on a major new platform development being built in Python and Erlang, which is underpinning the next generation of CyberMentors websites.
However, not all courses are fully compliant with these guidelines and the provision of mentoring for implant placements also needs to be standardised.
Additional measures to improve the effectiveness of mentoring may include the replacement of personal mentoring with peer group-based (collaborative) mentoring [ 9], and the provision of dedicated mentoring time for the mentors [ 7] and mentees [ 11].
It will also be important to identify the need for and provision of peer mentoring support elsewhere in the UK and to investigate ways in which development of this process may be supported on a wider scale.
Examples of retention support services that might be provided under the programme include: the provision of psychosocial support; identification and provision of relevant Continuing Professional Development CPDD) opportunities, mentoring or professional supervision; and spousal employment assistance.
These DUTY recruiters will be available to provide Option 1 support to primary care sites, and to support autonomously recruiting Option 2 sites through the provision of expert training, mentoring and problem-solving.
The provision of learning opportunities through mentoring decreases provider anxiety about the future, satisfies career development needs, and creates a high level of job satisfaction [ 14, 27].
The mentoring approach aims to minimize disruption to ongoing service provision, i.e. one mentor based in a facility will impart her knowledge and skills to her colleagues.
Namely, we were interested in exploring support in terms of supervision, mentoring, professional development and more general support interventions (for example, the provision of locum relief, support from colleagues and networks of practitioners [ 22]).
