Nationally, researchers from 10 universities have joined forces to study resiliency, and the Jed and Clinton Health Matters Campus Program has enlisted 90 schools to help develop mental health and wellness programs.
Organizations can also find ways to integrate mental wellness into existing programs or initiatives they have in place for physical wellness since attitudes around physical health and workplace wellness are more established.
The division includes health services, counseling and mental health and wellness programs, the career center, student accessibility services, student success and advising, campus life, orientation, residential life, Greek life, campus life, the identity-based resource centers and community standards.
Some companies offer treatment coverage for mental health and counseling, and wellness programs are also becoming more popular.
Future consideration of these multiple levels of impact is warranted as researchers move forward in quantifying the impact of wellness programs in mental health settings.
Despite the many studies, theories and, more recently, student wellness programs and confidential mental health services offered by more and more medical schools, the grim statistics for medical students have hardly budged over the last generation.
Wellness programs that offer ongoing mental health education, resources and support help remove this barrier on employee engagement.
