How individuals deal with stress and how its affects their physical and mental functioning have been examined across the life span and in many domains, including health, work, family, parenting, school, peers, unemployment, aging, and nonnormative life events, like accidents, crime victimization, cultural upheaval, economic downturns, war, and relocation.
