Will Gregory's film score for "Menschen am Sonntag" receives its world premiere on May 20, and John Williams and Friends offer new works by Francis Bebey on May 21.
During this period Ulmer spent time in Berlin, where he codirected (with Robert Siodmak) the pseudodocumentary Menschen am Sonntag (1930; People on Sunday).
There, in 1929, he worked on the film "Menschen am Sonntag," or "People on Sunday," which became known as a masterwork of neorealism even though it predated the neorealism movement.

After working as a cameraman for Robert Siodmak on the 1930 documentary Menschen am Sonntag (People on Sunday), Zinnemann traveled to Hollywood, where he was an extra in Lewis Milestone's All Quiet on the Western Front (1930).
And so it was that in 1929 Wilder became scenarist (or title writer) on Menschen am Sonntag (People on Sunday), a pan-orama of stories about young people on the loose in Berlin and made by a core group - including director Robert Siodmak - who would all be Hollywood figures.
The volumes, entitled Atlas zu Die Missbildungen des Menschen, are held in the SCRC Rare Books collection (call # fQM691.A3).
Although he ghostwrote several other films, Wilder considered his film debut to be "Menschen am Sonntag" ("People on Sunday") in 1929.
