In this task, observers are asked to match T1 to a previously presented memory set, and it was shown that such access to memory interferes with the processing of T2.
At 100 ms after the start of the trial the memory set was shown for 1000 ms, followed by a blank screen for 700 ms. The memory set consisted of either 1 or 4 digits, depending on the experimental condition.

The following comment shows that the history of the assessment was in a situation experienced a long time ago, but the memories set the tone for later situations.
The figure shows average RTs for target-present trials with a memory set of eight target types and visual set sizes of four, eight, and 16 items.
Results again showed a linear relationship of RT to the visual set size and to the log of the memory set size.
Many data sets show this.
The resulting memory performance showed that visual dominance was limited to a distinct task setting.
Two sets of comparisons are shown in Fig. 2. Figure 2a and b show the standard hybrid search results for memory sets of three and six specific or categorical targets.
In sharp contrast, response selection activity in these regions did not show any effect of practice over the course of three runs with repeated memory sets.
