One type of IMCL that is stored mainly in lipid droplets (LDs), namely intramuscular triglyceride (IMTG), plays an important role in maintaining lipid homeostasis, including lipid metabolism, membrane trafficking, cell signaling, hormone production, and other molecular events.
PKD1 influences many fundamental cell biological processes including membrane trafficking, cell survival, differentiation and migration.
