These regression models account for the within medical facility correlation between patients and within person correlation among repeated measurements, for valid estimation of treatment effects and associated standard errors.
The lack of correlation was confirmed for each sub-scale: the type of medical prevention (correlation coefficient r=−0.053, NS), the meaning of hereditary predisposition (r=0.056, NS), the steps to start a personal genetic inquiry (r=−0.045, NS) and the general information score (r=−0.011, NS).
Furthermore, those students who felt it was easy to identify a research mentor were more likely to be interested in research during medical school (correlation coefficient 0.236, p = 0.05), feel that they had a good training in critical appraisal (correlation coefficient 0.254, p = 0.03) and express a future interest in research as a career goal (correlation coefficient 0.23, p = value 0.015).
The biggest contrast is found with respect to LOS where the medical center correlation is 0.534, compared to 0.046 at non-accredited institutions.
Due to scarcity of serum samples or incomplete information in the patients' medical records, correlation analysis was not conducted in all the patients enrolled; the number of patients lacking examination, however, was negligible.

However, the retrospective recollection of birth-weight of children by parents has been found to be accurate in comparison to medical records with correlations of over 0.90 between the two data sources reported [ 16, 54].
Although in medical literature the correlation coefficient (r) between the results of two measurement methods is often chosen as a measure of agreement, this approach has been shown to be inappropriate for a number of reasons [ 13].
Relevant domains of distress were identified, items generated, and a screening instrument formed using a process of literature review, nominal group technique, input from deans and medical students, and correlation analysis from previously administered assessments.
Although socio-demographic and medical covariates showed correlation with change and postoperative WOMAC and EQ-5D scores (Table 1), their contribution to the explanation was very low in multivariate models once the preoperative WOMAC and EQ-5D scores are accounted for (Table 4).
