The PAA coating not only stabilizes the SPM nanoparticles in the aqueous medium mediating the inter-particle dipolar interaction (directly related to the Néel relaxation time), but also changes the hydrodynamic radius of the particles and modify the Brownian relaxation time by friction of the nanoparticle surface in the carrier fluid.
