This study examined the role of abscisic acid (ABA) in mediating root responses to soil compaction using tomato genotypes with differing endogenous ABA concentrations.
Along with the finding that the expression of PsPIP2 1 was positively correlated with the diurnal changes in root hydraulic conductivity of Pea plants (Beaudette et al. 2007), here our results provided further evidence that PsPIP2 1 was indeed involved in mediating root water transport in Pea plants.
Our data show that ABP1 is implicated to various degrees in the control of auxin responses mediating root growth, especially cell division, cell elongation, and gene expression.
These are symbiotic with vascular plants, live in the soil and associate with their photosynthetic partner at the root level, mediating root uptake of water and nutrients and receiving carbohydrates in return [14].
Finally, phylogenetic analyses indicate these transporters as functionally related to AtSultr1 1 and AtSultr1 2 and then we can infer their probable function in mediating root sulfate uptake from the soil solution [ 14, 43, 44].
Sequence analyses revealed that the amino acid identities of these proteins with those of Arabidopsis belonging to the same cluster were 86% (BjSultr1 1 vs AtSultr1 1) and 94% (BjSultr1 2a/b/c vs AtSultr1 2), suggesting that the B. juncea and Arabidopsis sulfate transporters would share functions in mediating root sulfate uptake.

Our data provide several forms of evidence to support the hypothesis that at least two distinct and competing pathways may take part in mediating root-to-shoot Cd translocation in rice.
Diameter of ( beta )-Ga2O3 nanowire grown by catalyst alloy-mediated root growth can be tuned by adjusting growth conditions.
The effects of cyanide on the processes of auxin perception or biosynthesis cascade at the root tips are worth considering owing to its role in gibberellic acid mediated root growth and elongation [34].
Spraying with tZ rescued the phenotype in atabcg14 knockout plants, supporting the idea that AtABCG14 could mediate root to shoot translocation of tZ-type cytokinins.
Our results suggest that at least two pathways may mediate root-to-shoot Cd translocation in rice.
