Among them metal- and metal oxide-mediated decomposition of dye has been explained (Anipsitakis and Dionysiou 2004; Segal et al. 1997).

The semiconductor-mediated photocatalytic decomposition of organic pollutions in the environment has attracted much attention [1] because of the abundant available solar resources and the minimum requirements of carbon footprint generated.
