Xoopit, the social webmail plugin that indexes your Gmail account's media attachments, has launched Gmail Media Search.
To activate media attachments, payments, archiving, is $7 per month per user.
Wordier tweets — media attachments don't count: You won't have to say less to show more.
Once in a group, participants have a two column view, where they can experience threaded conversations and upload media attachments.
The company said it will no longer count media attachments and @names in select replies toward your 140 allowed characters.
However, the @usernames in Twitter replies did end up counting towards the 140 characters, as did other media attachments, including photos, GIFs, videos, and polls.
It's already implemented some of the other #Beyond140 updates, including the ability to retweet yourself and media attachments like photos not counting against the character limit.
On the desktop, you can also now see all media attachments used in a conversation in a pop-up viewer, which is great for most situations, but also means you probably want to be more mindful about what you share.
Nearly a year ago, Twitter announced it would begin distancing itself from the requirement that all tweets could only contain 140 characters by no longer counting some things – like media attachments or @ replies towards the character count.
The company says that, among other changes designed to welcome new users to its service, it will no longer count media attachments and @names in select replies toward your 140 allowed characters.
