Comparing the outcomes of the present study with the results of five large mechanical thrombolysis trials (see Table 6): Merci, Multi-Merci, Penumbra Pivotal, SWIFT, and TREVO2 trials, our study obtained a higher recanalization rate than the Merci, Multi-Merci, and Penumbra pivotal stroke trials [ 3, 4, 8].
