This monitor provides the end user with raw accelerometry data (ie, unfiltered acceleration signals) in three axes (forward/backward, up/down, left/right), therefore offering the end user greater control over data processing, and a measure of surface skin temperature.
The authors of these studies report the limitations of their studies; for example, only one of the five research teams measured the surface skin temperature of the investigated joint [ 53], and knowing this temperature is crucial to determining the effectiveness of cooling.
