The aim of the study is how to achieve best K-means clustering structure so that k groups uncovered reveal more meaningful within-group coherence by assigning weights w1,…,wm to m clustering variables Z1,…,Zm.
To measure meaningful phases, significant coherence at that frequency must be present.
We can thus evaluate the likelihood of a motif being biologically meaningful by the coherence of the expression profiles of all the target genes associated with the motif.
