These measurements include detailed maps of mean mixture fraction, mean temperature, mean soot volume fraction, and mean and instantaneous spectrally resolved, path integrated radiation intensity.
For each day and probe, the following parameters were computed: mean temperature, mean RH, Tmax, Tmin, RHmax, and RHmin.
Using SFS, 6 out of the original 24 physiological variables were chosen: mean heart rate, mean temperature, mean platelets, mean blood pressure, mean SpO2, and mean lactic acid.
The geographic variables considered were altitude and latitude; and the climatic variables were minimal mean temperature, maximal mean temperature, mean temperature and thermal amplitude.
Those 11 bioclimatic layers were winnowed from a larger set of 19 variables using correlations to estimate redundancy between variables and retaining the more biologically meaningful and interpretable variables (e.g., annual mean temperature, mean temperature of the wettest quarter, and precipitation of the wettest quarter).
To compare the climate space occupied by native populations directly with that occupied by introduced populations, we superimposed occurrence data on 7 "bioclimatic" variable grids (annual mean temperature, mean diurnal range, maximum temperature of warmest month, minimum temperature of coldest month, annual precipitation, and precipitation of wettest and driest months; 0.0833° resolution) [47].
Uniformly good agreement between measured and computed mean temperatures, mean soot volume fractions and (where available) radiative fluxes is found across all flames.
Aggregate mean of properties of air masses (cumulated sun flux (a), mean temperature (b), mean pressure (c), mean altitude (d), mean humidity (e), cumulated rainfall (f) and distance traveled (g)) are compared between precipitations that carried P. syringae (gray boxes) and those that did not carry P. syringae (white boxes).
We also observed inter-annual differences, with approximately 2 °C higher mean temperature and 30% lower mean precipitation in 2011 compared to 2010 at both field sites.
