Density, mean leaf and epiphyte biomasses (gDW.m-2), leaf area index (m.m-2), at the sampling sites in November 2001 (Calvi, St Florent, Nonza) and February 2002 (Calvi, Lumio, Macinaggio and Bastia).
Mean leaf contribution to total biomass plotted against tiller length and weight, at the various developmental stages, shows that the genotypes used in this study differ in several allometric traits (Fig. 2).
The IR spectrum of purified nanoparticles showed the reduction of peaks at 3,448, 1,610 and 1,384 cm-1 which means that some of the leaf biomass remains stuck to nanoparticles; otherwise, elemental gold would not show any peak in the IR spectrum.

All the four plant species responded to UV exclusion by a significant increase in plant height, leaf area, leaf biomass, total biomass accumulation and yield.
Exponential fertilization increased new stem and leaf biomass and N content but decreased the percent allocation of biomass to roots.
Gliricidia leaf biomass was incorporated into the maize three times per year.
