The fact that metrics like mean height or height percentiles were not affected by the plot size indicates certain homogeneity in the structure of our study sites at different scales.
Our results showed that metrics describing the canopy height (Hmax) and the vertical distribution of canopy material through the whole canopy such as AUCW, P25H, CV of the height or StdH were more affected than metrics representing mean height or other height-related percentiles.
The mean height or length was 96% of (US) age- and sex-predicted values (range 84 110%).
For each trial arm we abstracted number of participants, number lost to follow-up or excluded after randomisation, mean baseline height or weight, and mean height or weight (and standard deviations) at the end of follow-up.
For the present study, we have postulated that instrument error will not necessarily affect the mean height or mean weight, and thus mean BMI, but the variance in general will increase [ 7].

Outcomes were mean height (cm) or weight (g) at the end of follow-up or mean change in height (cm) or weight (g) per unit of follow-up time.
There were no differences between institution-living and community-living OAC in mean height for age or BMI for age.
In general terms, the differences in height percentiles or mean height were below 1 m and smaller than the standard deviation of the change when derived from the echo-based model, whereas slightly higher differences were observed when derived from the CHM.
In the girls, there were no such group differences in growth cessation (calcium group, 8/16; placebo group, 7/16; P = 0.8) or mean height increment (both groups: 0.3 ± 0.1 cm).
No statistically significant differences in the volume (p = 0.35) or mean height (p = 0.24) of adhesive remnants were found (ANOVA rank Kruskal-Wallis test) between the groups of teeth cleaned using different tools.
The results concerning adhesive remnants height and volume after orthodontic clean-up using three different tools have been presented in Table 1.> No statistically significant differences in the volume (p = 0.35) or mean height (p = 0.24) of adhesive remnants were found (ANOVA rank Kruskal-Wallis test) between the groups of teeth cleaned using the various tools.
