It remains unclear whether pain secondary to FAI is a reliable predictor of future osteoarthritis and low positive predictive values mean current clinical care must focus on treating symptoms rather than preventing future disease.
The mean current body pain intensity (VAS) in the NF patients was 48 mm (median 44; range 15 100 mm) whereas for the F patients it was 60 mm (median 55; range 23 100 mm).
The mean improvement in current pain intensity in the resistance exercise group represented an improvement of 23%%, which is considered a clinically important difference, as a reduction of 15%% represents a minimal clinically important difference [ 55].
