Sixty-one knee scanograms of 33 patients (mean age around 20 years) diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma and undergoing distal femur megaprosthetic surgery were acquired.
The studies done by Verrotti et al. (2000, 2002) also found no significant differences in PTH levels between epileptic patients on AEDs and normal population, which may be attributed to the inclusion of younger patients with a mean age around 20 who were on AEDs for a mean duration of 2 to 3 years.
All studies included adult patients (mean age around 43 years).

Also, the present study and the above mentioned studies investigated rather young populations with mean age around forty years [ 3, 4, 8, 32].
In both groups anthropometric parameters were similar with a mean age around 60 years, a preponderance of females and a BMI lying in the upper normal range.
Our data shows that patients from both hospitals had similar mean age, around 50 years old that is in agreement with an international study that evaluated 10,575 ICC cases and reported a mean age of 51.4 years [ 11].
