The greatest impact of MC on HIV prevention is likely to be observed in communities where HIV rates are high and MC rates are low, such as in many countries in East and Southern Africa [ 8, 10].
These estimates are similar to those predicted using our compartmental model, although the assumptions for these models were different, with an increase in MC rates from 10%to50%0% or 80% in the latter model as opposed to from 0to100%0% in the former.
Both factors decreased MCs life rate, but, in the worst case, dead MCs rate never exceeded 10%.
On the contrary, MC-rate outperforms clearly the other two and especially compared to the SC-rate (Figure 4(b)).
This implies that the adaptation capability of MCF-rate is lower than that of the MC-rate.
(3) Apply Codec Adaptation Only during Rate Changes and Use a Standard CAC for New Calls (Nonadaptive CAC, Block Any Call That Cannot Fit In) (SC-rate, MC-rate, MCF-rate).
In average, the three solutions that act on rate changes only (SC-rate, MC-rate and MCF-rate) can give a better overall performance (lower VGoS) under high traffic load when considering all three metrics and when all nodes participate on the adaptation process (Figure 4(a)).
Notice that all three solutions in this category (SC-rate, MC-rate and MCF-rate) have an almost identical performance since in the average case it will be enough for solving the congestion to adapt the codec only of the call who suffered the rate change, equal to the SC-rate.
The parameter D can be regarded as the oversampling factor, representing the ratio between the sampling frequency Fs and the total MC symbol rate RN.
The visual evaluation of the 5 MC patients rated 3/5 non-MC images blurred (average score: 3.4±0.5 on a scale of 1-5) and 0/5 MC images blurred (score: 4.0±0.0) with no correlation between motion magnitude and rating.
