In the present study, in years of apparent reduced food availability neither male nor female Australasian gannets increased trip duration, maximum range or total distance travelled.
The maximum value of the total distance is 12/ 2, which is approximately 8.49.
Foraging trip metrics were calculated (i.e. maximum distance from colony, total distance and duration, and average speed) for the foraging trip.
Results from each 24 h period were exported to a Microsoft Excel file in which total distance run, maximum velocity among daily runs, number of runs and maximum run interval (i.e. duration of run) were calculated.
