To investigate the combined effect of molecular polarity and flexibility on bacterial attachment, a composite parameter α was calculated from Equation (1), whereby the coefficient of nRotB was optimized to produce the maximum R value between α and fluorescence due to P. aeruginosa attachment.
To keep the precision within 20% of its maximum, R should stay between 0.3 and 3.
