By trend, freshly excised ventral skin of X. laevis was more permeable to both test compounds than dorsal skin with mean maximum permeability coefficients of 4.7 × 10−3cm/h for caffeine and 3.0 × 10−3cm/h for testosterone and 3.0 × 10−3cm/h for caffeine and 1.3 × 10−3cm/h for testosterone, respectively.
